Tidemedia formally announces SA’s biggest Lan and gaming expo for 2009

Tidemedia has announced that rAge will take place from the 2nd to 4th of October 2009, and that it should be bigger and better than the years before. Entrance will be R250 for the weekend, which includes access to the open LAN as well as the expo.

Even without official confirmation, Telkom will most likely host LAN events for their two most popular titles this year, Call of Duty 4 and Counter-Strike: Source. These titles have been part of Do Gaming's successful online leagues, and willconclude with a LAN final at rAge.

Community favorite titles such as Team Fortress 2 and DotA will need to pick up their commitment to competitive gameplay, and hopefully convince the organiser's that these games will be viable picks for LAN tournaments at rAge.

Check below for the official press release for rAge 2009.

"Article courtesy of Pantheon Gaming"? Someone's just copied and pasted the text from the rAge website. Which, mind you, has been up for weeks already.

Tarryn, we gave our own point of view in the first 4 paragraphs on our site, then directly copied the rAge piece as it perfectly sums up the specific details of the event. We are only here to promote rAge, not trying to step on anyone's toes.

Mind you, it has been up for weeks but none of the local community websites were informed of such news, only recently did we realise the rage site was updated and we could get the news out there. Hopefully in the future there will be a better synergy between rAge/NAG and local community, only the actual rAge event seems to bring everyone together. (Just my 2 cents on the matter!)
