You nailed this review spot on Nic!! When I saw this game at Rage, I totally hated it, and just couldnt get what everyone was going on about.Then a freind of mine bought an extra copy and we did 4 player co-op this weekend. Since then, I havent played any other game. This game is addictive, and fulfils your lust for gory action at the same time

Only time will tell if Borderlands is any better than Fallout3 , i still play fallout due to a great mod community and interesting game mechanics, though i will admit that 4player Co-0p is the ****, can't wait for the weakend lan to try this **** out. :]

The Fallout comparison was meant light halfheartedly. I don't think you can make a serious comparison between these two games as they are very different.

That said, on papaer they do sound very similar.

i enjoyed your review, they're always very tuned to my taste in gaming. id just like to comment that it cant be viewed as a disadvantage that certain 'hardcore' RPG elements are missing. that has made the game more appealing for someone like me, who hates RPG. Plus the game would be too cumbersome and sluggish if it was remotely like oblivion or WoW. Cant wait to play this

Implying Borderlands is better than Fallout 3. Oh you...

Borderlands is just mindless loot and shoot. Hell, I hardly even look at the mission description or listen to what the characters have to say when playing. It doesn't nearly have as much depth as Fallout 3.

I didn't mean cool as in better, I meant it as in cool. I wouldnt call Fallout 3 'cool'.

Its epic, engaging, emersive and rewarding. But its not 'cool' per say.

This was not meant as a dig at Fallout 3, more as way of identifying a fundamental difference between the two.
