God of War III needs 35GB disk space
Sony’s Tom Moss, Director of technology at Sony Santa Monica has revealed that the upcoming PS3 exclusive will require a massive 35GB of Blu-ray disk space when it is released.
“GOW3 35Gb of goodness. Thank heavens for Dual Layer Blu-Rays” tweeted over the weekend.
Most single-layer Blu-ray disks can store up to 25GB of data, while dual-layer disks double the storage capacity.
Exactly how Sony has managed to take up so much space with a game that will render natively at 720p remains a mystery, although current bets are on massive uncompressed sound files, and hopefully, some highly detailed texture packs.
Of course PS3 fans will be quick to point out that the game would have had to be released on multiple disks for Xbox 360.
It’s more likely however that Sony could have actually made the game a lot smaller, and is embracing its whopping disk size in order to promote it.

It it wasnt for Blu Ray then it would have been a 35gb install. Now I wonder which console doesn't have blu Ray...mmmm
The article states that it will be 35Gb on the blu-ray disc and says nothing about installing the game so Sting-Ray's point is useless. Plus the forums don't need fanboyism clutter.
Sorry my previous comment was directed as Sting-Ray.
