Battlefield: Bad Company makes unexpected early debut on Xbox 360

Not only did EA launch the beta for the upcoming Battlefield 2: PC yesterday, but a demo for the game was also put on Xbox Live.

The demo was previously scheduled to be released on February 4, but yesterday Gold Xbox Live users were granted full access to it.

There is currently debate on whether the demo was accidentally released early, or if EA intended it as a surprise. Regardless of the reasons, it is now available for free download. The demo will be playable until Feb 25, shortly before the full game hits shelves on March 5.

Downloading the demo requires 1GB of international bandwidth. Early reports suggest that the servers have been overloaded, with slow download speeds and laggy gameplay. Hopefully EA and Microsoft can sort out the problems ASAP. Similar problems have plagues the PC beta.

A PS3 demo is expected next week.
